Local Area

Norfolk has history all about, geology to astound and architecture to amaze. It has the more medieval Churches than any other area in Europe.
We highly recommend taking a walk on the Peddars way -  a 46 mile long distance footpath which was metalled by the Romans for travel across East Anglia to prevent the Iceni’s from rebelling against the might of the Army.
We aslo recommend the following local attractions, all within a 30 minute drive:
Sandringham House, www.sandringhamestate.co.uk
Holkham Hall, www.holkham.co.uk
Houghton Hall, www.houghtonhall.com
Oxburgh Hall, www.nationaltrust.org.uk/oxburghhall
Blickling Hall, www.nationaltrust.org.uk/blicking
The unspoilt North Norfolk coast is about a 30 minute drive. The coast has miles and miles of sandy beaches some of which take your breath away and some of the best bird watching in the country.
The cathedral city of Norwich is 45 minutes’ drive during medieval times the 2nd city in the Country. The historic port of King’s Lynn, www.visitwestnorfolk.com is only 20 minutes’ drive.
Hunstanton is the only East Coast resort to face West, go and see some magical sunsets across the wash. Go and stand on Holkham beach and just imagine there is no land between you and the North Pole.
Visit the Thursford collection www.thursford.com for the steam museum during the year or the Christmas extravaganza you will be amazed or take a ride back in time on the Poppy line Steam Railway www.nnrailway.co.uk from Holt to Sheringham.
Whatever you choose to do whilst you are in Norfolk we are sure it will be memorable.
