FRANK & SHEILA MOISTER WELCOME YOU TO...
ChurchGate Bed & Breakfast
Church Gate Tea Room & Bed & Breakfast is a family run business and has been operated by the current owners since 2001. The house was built in the mid 1700’s and retains many original features including the inglenook fireplace and beamed ceilings. We aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere in comfortable surroundings.
We have four rooms in total 3 doubles and 1 twin. All rooms are fully en-suite with shower facility, TV, tea and coffee facilities, central heating and wireless broadband. We are registered with visitbritain and visitnorfolk and enjoyengland and enjoyeastofengland and maintain a 4 diamond award. The arrival time for your room is from 2.30pm and departure time is 10.30am.
Come and explore a beautiful corner of West Norfolk that is forever England. Countryside as it should be. We are ideally situated in the village for all amenities. The Castle and Cluniac Priory are both a short walk, both are maintained by English Heritage and are not to be missed. St James the Great Church a handsome Norman church right next door, The River Nar, a Brown Trout river, is only a 5-minute walk and there are several short walks, which are described in the books we have available in the Tea Room. We are situated at the intersection of the Peddars Way and Nar Valley walk.
The Ostrich pub on the village Green serves meals Mon - Sat and Sunday lunch. We are happy to reserve a table for our guests. Many of our guests choose to eat at the pub during their stay at Castle Acre. However, there are many good pubs & restaurants locally and we can also advise guests on those as well.
The Bed & Breakfast received a Good Breakfast Award from Visit England, Quality in Tourism in 2012. Whilst we have consistently served a good breakfast this is the first year we have received the Award. A sample breakfast menu is set out as following: Fresh Fruit Platter of at least 5 Fruits, Fruit juice, Cereal, Full English Breakfast with local premium sausages, premium bacon, local free range eggs, fresh grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, fried bread & black pudding. Or for a lighter bite try our Continental with Yogurts and Croissant with Toast & Preserves. Home made at ChurchGate Marmalade and Strawberry Jam (when available) and Tea or Coffee.
There is a Beach Hut available for guest use at Old Hunstanton. Nestled in the sand dunes you can just sit and watch the world go by. Nearby is The Ancient Mariner Pub or The Le Strange Arms Hotel or the Beach Cafe whichever you choose they're all just 2 minutes walk away. It's all there whether it's big blue skies or glorious sunsets you can just relax. Try some Fish & Chips to take away from Hunstanton with a nice bottle of wine and watch the sun go down.
