ChurchGate Bed & Breakfast

Church Gate Tea Room & Bed & Breakfast is a family run business and has been operated by the current owners since 2001. The house was built in the mid 1700’s and retains many original features including the inglenook fireplace and beamed ceilings. We aim to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere in comfortable surroundings.

We have four rooms in total 3 doubles and 1 twin. All rooms are fully en-suite with shower facility, TV, tea and coffee facilities, central heating and wireless broadband. We are registered with visitbritain and visitnorfolk and enjoyengland and enjoyeastofengland and maintain a 4 diamond award.

Come and explore a beautiful corner of West Norfolk that is forever England. Countryside as it should be. We are ideally situated in the village for all amenities. The Castle and Cluniac Priory are both a short walk, both are maintained by English Heritage and are not to be missed. St James the Great Church a handsome Norman church right next door, The River Nar, a Brown Trout river, is only a 5-minute walk and there are several short walks, which are described in the books we have available in the Tea Room. We are situated at the intersection of the Peddars Way and Nar Valley walk.

There are two pubs in the village both on the Green. The Albert Victor and The Ostrich both serve meals. We are happy to advise on both and reserve a table for our guests at either. Most of our guests choose one of the pubs to eat at during their stay at Castle Acre. However there are many good pubs & restaurants locally and we can also advise guests on those as well.
